Skipper of fishing boat "Silver Crest" fined for having illegal-sized nets |

From "The Ardrossan & Saltcoats Herald" dated Friday 31st December 1971 NET RESULT WAS A FINE The skipper of a fishing vessel which docked at Ardrossan Harbour with nets which enabled more fish to be caught than with the standard nets was fined ?15 at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Wednesday. At a previous hearing William Dickson of 34 Fisher's Road, Port Seton, East Lothian, admitted by letter to having a trawl net on board his vessel "Silver Crest" which did not have meshes in the Fishing Nets (North East) Atlantic Order, 1971. Imposing the fine, Sheriff Reginald N. Levitt told Dickson that his net would have to be confiscated. |
