Death of Mr. William Crawford

DEATH OF MR. WILLIAM CRAWFORD

Mr. William Crawford, general manager in Glasgow of the General Steam Navigation Company, has died at his home, 9 Clarence Drive, Glasgow.
He was 59.

Mr. Crawford was a native of Glasgow but had strong family ties in Arran, and was a former secretary of the Arran Society in Glasgow.

He joined Crawford Duff and Co., Glasgow, agents for the Moss Line of Liverpool, on leaving school, and when the Moss Line and Hutchison Line amalgamated in 1934 he became freight manager.

The Moss Hutchison Line was taken over by the General Steam Navigation Company in 1958, and in 1961 Mr. Crawford was appointed general manager.

Mr. Crawford is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
