Ardrossan Harbour Company organised a quiz for schoolchildren in connection with Ardrossan centenary celebrations and the questions involved the location of 26 ports and the products there from landed at Ardrossan. 369 boys and girls entered but nobody answered all questions correctly.

The dockyard at Ardrossan is busy with three conversion jobs on former naval vessels being adapted for civilian purposes but shortage of steel is holding up the work.
