Bomb exploded on Arran after submarine USS Patrick Henry passes en-route to Holy Loch

BOMB EXPLODED ON ARRAN

A bomb disposal unit exploded a bomb at the southern end of the island of Arran on Wednesday, shortly after the polaris submarine "Patrick Henry" had passed on her way to the Holy Loch.
Coastguards at Kildonan said there was a small explosion, but Arran Police would make no comment.
A spokesman for the Flag Officer, Scotland, said a naval bomb disposal unit were sent from Rosyth to investigate an object found at Shannochie.
