The Admiralty announced that two ratings have been arrested and detained in the Royal Naval Barracks, Portsmouth, England, charged with allegedly attempting to sabotage their ship, the “C-class” Navigational Training Destroyer H.M.S. CARRON of the Royal Navy. Only slight damage was caused and the operation of the vessel was not affected. The 363 feet long (111m) H.M.S. CARRON was built in 1944 by Scotts Shipbuilding and Engineering Company at Greenock and her wartime service saw duties in the North Atlantic, off Norway and with the British Pacific Fleet in the Indian Ocean.
