Anchor Line's passenger/cargo liner CALEDONIA tied up in Prince's Dock at 2220 on 14th March 1962, having shifted from across the river at Yorkhill Quay to Prince's Dock

On 16th March at 0900 the harbour oiler CLANITY came alongside and bunkered her with 400 tons of fuel oil

At 2145 on 19th March she shifted from her berth 4 Prince's Dock across the North basin to berth 6 Prince's Dock, head East 1 blind from top (that berth was directly opposite berth 4) and her draught forward was 15' 5" and aft 21' 7"

CALEDONIA cast off her ropes from Prince's Dock at 2105 on 20th March and shifted across the river to the Anchor Line's Company's berth at Yorkhill Quay, Glasgow

Ellerman's CITY OF DUNDEE arrived in Glasgow berth at 0130 on 12th March 1962 from Antwerp.

At 1145 on 20th March she shifted along the dock wall in Prince's Dock from berth 2/3 to berth 4, with her bow 1 blind from the East end.

On 23rd March at 1200 the floating crane NEWSHOT came alongside and loaded 4 heavy lifts totalling 64 tons 10 cwts onto CITY OF DUNDEE

On 26th March engine trial was made, from 1400 to 1402 the engine was turned each way for 1 minute, draught forward 10 feet and aft 20' 4"

At 1920 on 26th March CITY OF DUNDEE let go her ropes and left Glasgow for Calcutta via Birkenhead.

CALEDONIA STAR arrived in Prince's Dock from Liverpool at 0940 on 15th March 1962.

On 17th March at 1200 she shifted ahead from berth 16/17 Prince's Dock along the dock wall to berth 14/15 Prince's Dock.

Just over an hour later, at 1320 on 17th March, she shifted astern back from berth 14/15 to her previous berth 16/17 Prince's Dock. Her draught forward was 15' 11" and aft 23 feet.

On 20th March at 1200 she again shifted berth, this time slightly ahead from berth 16/17 Prince's Dock, to berth 15/16 Prince's Dock., her draught forward being 20' 7" forward and aft 22' 5"

At 1132 on 21st March CALEDONIA STAR departed Glasgow for Vancouver

Greek tramp ship K HADJIPATERAS shifts berth again in Prince's Dock, Glasgow

The Greek ship K HADJIPATERAS tied-up in Prince's Dock at 1645 on 12th March 1962 from Kelvin Dry Dock, Glasgow, to load scrap metal for Japan.

At 0700 on 19th March she shifted Westwards along the dock wall from berth 27 to berth 27/28 Prince's Dock. Her draught forward was 14' 8" and aft 22' 7"

The following afternoon, 20th March, at 1215, she shifted Eastwards along the dock wall to her previous berth 27 Prince's Dock, draught forward being 15' 6" and aft 24 feet.

At 0710 on 21st March when low water at Govan, the ship was sitting on the ground (sitting on the bottom sea-bed of the dock berth) her draught being 24 feet aft and 15' 9" forward.

On 21st March at 1425 she bunkered 125 tons of fuel oil from the harbour oiler INVERTEST

Having completed loading K HADJIPATERAS departed Prince's Dock for Osaka (Japan) with her cargo of 9650 tons of scrap at 1933 on 31st March 1962

Historical information about the ship.

K HADJIPATERAS was built in 1943 by Todd-Houston Shipbuilding Company, Houston, Texas,as a wartime Liberty ship, class EC2-S-C1, and completed in July 1943 as GEORGE C CHILDRESS and served the US Government from 1943 to 1947.
They sold her in 1947 to J & A Hadjipateras, Piraeus, Greece, who renamed her K HADJIPATERAS and employed her worldwide as a general tramp ship.
On 27th July 1967, whilst on a voyage from Calcutta to Rangoon (Burma) with a cargo of coal, she ran aground on a reef at Koronje Island, 35 miles north of Pagoda Point off Bassein, Burma and quickly sank.
