An easy and pleasant way of travelling to Ireland is provided by the Ardrossan - Belfast Summer daylight service sponsored by Burns and Laird Lines, whose vessel "Irish Coast" does the crossing in five hours.

The sailings are made every week-day until Saturday 29th August, and also on Sundays, 5th July and 19th July and 2nd August.

The "Irish Coast" leaves Ardrossan (Montgomerie Pier) at 9:15am with train connections from Glasgow Central at 8:15am, Paisley (Gilmour Street) at 8.27am and Kilwinning station at 8.52am.
She arrives at Belfast at 2:15pm.

The return sailing from Belfast is at 3:15pm and the week day train connection from Ardrossan to Kilwinning, Paisley and Glasgow is 8:20pm arriving at Glasgow at 9.9pm.
On the Sunday trips, the train leaves Ardrossan at 8:30pm, arriving at Glasgow at 9:22pm.

There will be additional sailings from Ardrossan on Friday and Saturday, 17th and 18th July and from Belfast on Saturday 1st August.

On 17th and 18th July the departure time from Ardrossan will be 2pm and on 1st August the sailing from Belfast will be at 10 am.

During the period of operation of the daylight service reduced return fares are charged for midweek travel - Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays - and there are a number of special one-day excursions from Ardrossan to Belfast and return.

All main meals are served on the ship, also morning coffee and afternoon teas.

Brochures giving full particulars of sailings etc can be obtained at the Company's offices and at travel agencies.
