Constable Devoy assists in saving a seaman from Ardrossan Dock

From "The Ardrossan & Saltcoats Herald" newspaper dated 15th January 1965.
Late last Saturday night a seaman employed on board a ship at present in Ardrossan Dockyard fell into the dock.
His cries for help were heard, and P.C. A. Devoy and another man succeeded in bringing him to safety.
The seaman was removed to Kilmarnock Infirmary for examination, but was able to return to his ship.

Campbeltown Town Council want hovercraft service to call at Campbeltown and Arran

From "The Ardrossan & Saltcoats Herald" newspaper dated 15th January 1965.
Campbeltown Town Council are to ask Highland Engineering Ltd. if they will extend their proposed Hovercraft service to include calls at Campbeltown and Arran.
the Company are to introduce their Hovercraft service in June between Tarbert, Loch Fyne, and Gourock.
A Council official said that if Campbeltown and Arran were included it would make it possible for the first time for passengers to travel to and from Kintyre and Arran in the same day.
