Do Azamara Club Cruises know something that we in the U.K. don’t know ? |
||||||||||||||||||||||
E-mail from J.R. (Bishopton, near Greenock) 30 November 2020
Do Azamara Club Cruises know something that we in the U.K. don’t know ?
Driving to work in Glasgow I pass King George V Dock and see the three Azamara cruise ships AZAMARA JOURNEY, QUEST and PURSUIT, laid up there, having arrived around July this year.
So imagine my surprise to see in a weekend newspaper a full page with the title AZA-MAZING AZAMARA OFFERS, advertising cruises for next year (2021).
AZAMARA JOURNEY is advertised for April 2021 for 8 nights for Italy, Montenegro and Croatia. and also 12 nights in July around the British Isles and also 16 nights in December for Singapore, Far East and Australia.
AZAMARA PURSUIT for 9 nights in May for Greece, Crete and islands.
AZAMARA QUEST for 15 nights in December for Miami and the Caribbean.
The world news nowadays is full of Covid-19 lockdowns and quarantines and visa restrictions and Azamara must be hoping that everything calms down especially for the April, May and July cruises. |

Dinner Menu of British India Line’s KENYA E-mail from Deborah Wright (London) 21 December 2020 @ 1050
Interested in reading the Dinner Menu. There was no curry on offer. I thought that there would always be a curry for dinner on British India ships.

This wonderful image, contributed by Robert McManus, shows three liners of Azamara Club Cruises, AZAMARA JOURNEY (nearest the camera) and AZAMARA QUEST and AZAMARA PURSUIT, all laid-up at King George V Dock, Shieldhall, Glasgow. The ships were idle because of the travel ban due to the worldwide Covid pandemic, and Robert, with his camera, has captured the stillness, lifelessness and silence of a camaraderie of modern cruise liners without passengers and nowhere to go. |
