AMBITION passes Ocean Terminal, Greenock on her way upriver to King George V Dock, Glasgow

   AMBITION is on a … maybe 6  month  …. charter by the Scottish Government to berth at 6 King George V Dock, Glasgow (exactly where Blue Funnel and Clan ships berthed) and will accommodate Ukranian refugees until they can be matched to suitable longer-term accommodation.

   She will house up to 1,750 people in 714 cabins and will provide all meals, laundry, etc. and the refugees will be able to come and go as they please on the ship at any time, day or night.

  As she passed Greenock, AMBITION was being assisted by tug AYTON CROSS (at the bow) and tug ANGLEGARTH at the stern.

AMBITION was being assisted at the bow by the tug AYTON CROSS and at the stern by the tug ANGLEGARTH.

   The earlier bright sunlight had gone, and the afternoon, as can be seen from the images, began to cloud over and heavy grey rainclouds  started to gather.

Looking remarkably tiny the German coaster SARAH-B passes the towering cruise liner SPIRIT OF ADVENTURE at Ocean Terminal, Greenock on 2nd September 2022.

   SARAH-B was heading up the River Clyde to Rothesay Dock, Clydebank with a cargo of Limestone from Galway, Ireland.

ARKLOW RAVEN arrived in the Clyde from Birkenhead, England, and was heading up the River Clyde towards Riverside Quay, Shieldhall, Glasgow, where she would load a full cargo of scrap metal for Setubal, Portugal.

MSC UMA was towed astern from her berth at Greenock Container Terminal  by the Svitzer tugs AYTON CROSS and SVITZER MILFORD and the tugs canted (turned) her off Greenock Esplanade to allow her to proceed ahead on her passage from the Clyde to Le Havre (France).
