From "The Ardrossan & Saltcoats Herald" dated Friday 30th January 1970

BRODICK

The car ferry "Bute" ran aground near the pier during the dense fog on Tuesday afternoon, while she was preparing to dock on her return run from Fairlie.
She was refloated with the help of a motor-boat which is being used in the reconstruction at the pier, and the ferry made her next sailing to the mainland 40 minutes late.
